Twitter got into the 2012 election conversation last week when they launched The Twitter Political Index (Twindex). For those unfamiliar with it, it is a tool that analyzes daily the sentiment of Twitter users’ feelings toward the 2012 presidential candidates with the hope that it can be used to predict the outcome of the up-and-coming presidential election.

The View From Above: Mitt Romney Tops 20% in the SIPP

It’s been a few weeks since Romney propelled above 20% in Internet market share, but his 21.5% mark this week is his second-highest since April 8. Now as regular followers of the Spartan Internet Political Performance Index know, this isn’t a significantly higher number than what he has been averaging. But given his recent social media blitz it is at the very least an indicator of the way his campaign has been picking up steam in recent weeks.

Improved Social Engagement on Facebook Helps Romney Reach New Milestone

A Romney campaign that had been coughing up Obama’s Internet campaign dust finally eclipsed the 2 million “Likes” mark on Facebook and increased unique visitor web traffic by 47% over the past four months.
